Baritone Roast is a Deep Roast. To achieve this roast we use a fully restored direct-fired 1961 Probat drum roaster. These old roasters are coveted and held in the highest esteem by artisan roasters worldwide. This roast style cannot be achieved with new “modern” indirect-fired roasters. Our Baritone Roast starts as a green coffee blend from Costa Rica, Sumatra, Ethiopia and Brazil. This is a dark roast with a low acidity profile. This dark roast has no burned or charred flavors, like so many improperly roasted coffees sold today.
